Insert Life Here #004 – Some Introductions Are In Order

Dear the five people that are left of the fanbase,

Hmm…I guess I should explain a few things.

1. The hell were you? So…can we expect another year of sluggish updates/cryptic messages?

I’m back. For good. I’m not going to explain where I was, as that would probably ruin Year Three’s story arc. Let’s just say it was fun, sketchy, unwholesome, and deeply self-destructive. While no one is proud of a lot of what went on, at least it’ll make for some great stories. Just know that I’m back, and I’m not stopping till we’re done with the whole story.

2. Alright. So…I’ve seen the first three comics. Freshman year? What are you doing?

At some point I realized that I wasn’t alright with the direction the comic was going, specifically that it (the comic) wasn’t a story…just a bunch of random events portrayed through rather flat characters. What is going to happen is a semi-reboot of Insert Life Here. Characters names will change, and the timelines will warp a bit. The reason for this is so that I won’t incriminate certain people and so that I can have more artistic freedom with some of the storylines.

What this means is that the story’s going to start off back during freshman year. Jackson, myself, and Stec as freshman, and Pasha as a sophomore. Also, year one and two will be merged into “freshman year”, elaborating more on the character’s personalities, life at RIT, and try to find our own niches. It will be the longest year, encompassing a lot of the basic stories and many that I left out from the original comic (or deleted during the move to 2.0).

So, in short, the four years at RIT are:

Year One: A first year at RIT and the adjustment shock.
Year Two: Fraternities, the game, Pasha’s sister, GSA, etc…
Year Three: Sex, Drugs, and Anime
Year Four: *grin*

3. Where are the old comics?

Um…about that. I’m getting rid of a lot of them. Since the story lines will be revisited, characters replaced, and overall plot changed…I don’t want to have to have the original comic right next to it as a “WTF is this?”. So, while a lot of the old comics will be coming back in series (Yes, expect some old art/jokes thrown in), that 170-page series is over.

4. New site? Um…nice?

Yes, I changed the site. Wordpress/ComicPress format. It’s much cleaner to work with. I’ll be finishing up the design soon, and we should be set to go!

That’s all I have to say. If you guys have any questions, feel free to post here. Now, I’ll get back to drawing….
